Chuquimarca is excited to announce an artist-talk series at Uber Chicago HQ!
Cathy Hsiao is the first artist to be featured in this two part artist talk series. They will present their art practice to the Uber Chicago community on July 16, 2024.
Visiting Artist Series at Uber Chicago is an artist-talk program that invites visual artists to present their art practice at Uber’s Chicago headquarters in the historic Old Post Office building.
This series hopes to engage conversations about contemporary art in the tech space and to bridge relationships between tech-talent and working contemporary artists.
Part one of the series with visiting artist Cathy Hsiao is sponsored by Asian at Uber Chicago and Chuquimarca. Part two of the series will take place in September.

About Cathy Hsiao
Cathy Hsiao is a Chicago based artist and educator growing up between Taiwan, the US, and Hong Kong. This mediation of distance between blood has shaped her interest in mediated forms of sculptural storytelling and interventions in various canons of art, craft, and technology. She holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) as a New Artist Society Merit Fellow. She is a 2020 Graham Foundation Artist Grantee, a 2022 Fountainhead Artist-in-Residence, and a 2023 Kohler Arts/Industry resident. Upcoming exhibitions include the 15th Havana Biennial and the 50th Anniversary of Arts/Industry at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.

About Chuquimarca
Established in 2019, Chuquimarca is an art library participating in the making and exchanging of art knowledge and language by gathering art books and organizing cohort-led programs. It acquires art books and produces educational programs for artists, curators, writers, and art patrons. The library’s task is to be a resource to learn about modern art histories and contemporary art.
